Back in 2017, we started out as Cycling Without Age Sorrento with just one bike and a vision to connect generations through the joy of cycling. As demand for our rides grew, we established our charity, Motion by the Ocean Inc. to provide stronger support and governance for our core program, Cycling Without Age Sorrento.
Today, MBTO oversees a growing fleet of six Trishaws and a thriving community of volunteers. During this time, we are proud to have had Steadfast Group Limited – Australia’s largest insurance broker, standing with us. Their most recent support has funded the purchase of a brand new Trishaw, our seventh—helping us maintain a reliable service. This means we can retire our very first Trishaw, allowing us to sustain continuity of service.
We are deeply grateful for this ongoing partnership. Our rides don’t just happen by chance—they rely on a strategic balance of well-managed assets and strong project governance. Maintaining and replacing Trishaws is just as vital as investing in the project management that ensures their effective use. Together, these costs allow us to sustain a safe, reliable, and high-quality service. With this foundation in place, we can continue to provide free Trishaw rides to those most at risk of social isolation, helping them remain connected to the communities they live in and love.
