Funded by Dementia Australia, Motion by the Ocean Inc. is one of 17 recipients to be awarded a grant for our Storytelling Through the Generations program, where we cycle along the Sorrento coastline and share stories of local heritage, that offers an opportunity for reminiscence.

Our coastline is full of history, and by sharing these stories, we help spark cherished memories of times gone by.

Here, we reflect on a period when the mainland was once connected to Rottnest Island, known to Whadjuk Noongar people as Wadjemup. These stories of ancient landscapes and changing seas invite reflection and often open up beautiful moments of conversation and memory-sharing during the ride.

It is in these shared stories, set against the backdrop of the coastline, that connection truly comes to life.
